November 2008 - The temporary exhibit "Beyond the Naked Eye: Science Reveals Nature's Art" will open at the Arizona State Museum on November 8 and run through January 9 2009 - for further info see http://www.statemuseum.arizona.edu/exhibits/beyondnakedeye/index.shtml
Most of the photographs in the exhibit were taken by IGERT graduate students, and the exhibit is financially supported by our IGERT as part of its outreach mission.
There will be a reception on Wednesday November 12th from 4-6 pm in the ASM lobby with food and (non-alcoholic) beverages, to which you are all invited. You'll be able to browse the images while you graze.
August 2008 - Binh Duong, a new Ph.D. student in Professor Supapan Seraphin’s research group in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE), received best poster award in the advanced instrumentation category at Microscopy and Microanalysis 2008.
A jubilant Binh Duong celebrates her best poster win at the annual meeting of the Microscopy Society of America and the Microbeam Analysis Society in August 2008 in Albuquerque, N.M.
Duong presented the poster -- Combined Raman Spectroscopy and SEM Analysis of CVD Grown Carbon Nanotubes -- at the annual meeting of the Microscopy Society of America and the Microbeam Analysis Society, held in August 2008 in Albuquerque, N.M. Duong did the work while she was still an undergraduate student in Materials Science and Engineering.
